Session Summary
- After the fight, Etron searches for (and finds) the ring belonging to the assassin that he turned into an ecroche
- Casting identify, itâs a Band of Armament (a ring that can turn into a selection of +1 weapons)
- Hen ties up the guy whoâs been knocked unconscious
- Gino and Phari stay with the tied up guy, while the rest of The Blackstars head over to the storehouse to find the gnome
- He looks in pretty bad shape - his bandaged leg is far smaller than the other, as if it lost a lot of flesh
- When Hen asks, he claims not to have the key from Breezeâs Tower, but Hen hears him lugging something around in there
- We interrogate the captured drow
- He tells us that we shouldnât meddle in affairs outside our concern, then turns his ring into a weapon and kills himself
- Etron casts Gentle Repose on the drow, stabilizing the body. Gino cuts off the hand with the ring on it and hands it to Etron as if shaking hands, and says âNice to meet youâ. Etron laughs for the first time.
- The hand poofs into smoke, but the body remains
- The non socially retarded party members then head back to the gnome to talk again
- Etron immediately picks up that he was lying about carrying something
- Asking what job he was doing
- He says he was looking for artifacts in nearby ruins
- Pushing him and telling him we know it was a Tartuffo job, he still doesnât budge
- Jeraimeâs turn
- He gives us the key (with some persuasion) and says heâs a dead man if he returns without it
- As we leave, he tells us that Vico has been collecting vessels, and itâs endangering the people of Sanstrelli
- We pay the townspeople some money before heading out to help cover the damage we did
- The woman we gave some money to tells us that, if weâre heading to Shai, we should avoid the lowlands
- We walk an hour or two north, and set up Leomundâs Tiny Hut to sleep in a small clearing
- Gino and Phari hear something that sounds like the whispers of cackling on the distant wind. Not quite like the witches we faced - more like an animal or monster laughing
- The next day, we continue heading northward. The terrain consists of a number of north-south running slot canyons; we heed the villagerâs warning, and stay on the top of the canyons
- We find a small camp, and pull up to say hello. They hesitantly welcome us, but there seems to be a tension in the air (not from us, but something that was there already)
- The next morning, the caravan is packing up ready to leave
- We pack up and head northwest towards Shai
- In the late afternoon, Gino sees the colors of the rainbow briefly flash over the horizon. A little while after, we hear the cackling again coming from roughly the same direction
- Reaching that area, we see some odd shapes in the lowlands.
- We head down, and find the ruined caravan
- The bodies strewn about look like theyâve been ruptured from the inside; shatter, perhaps?
- From somewhere nearby, we hear the cackling again
- Gino and Hen quietly go to track the creature. It looks like a twisted quadrupedal beast, covered in multicolored dots. Itâs like a greyhound, but with a thick, sagging neck that inflates like a frog and a head consisting almost entirely of a toothy maw. As it breathes, it incessantly cackles. Itâs pretty big, and looks to be heading northwest (towards Shai) with intent.
- We take a rest in Leomundâs tiny hut and the vessel approaches, seemingly attracted by the light
- Phari turns off the light, and the vessel leaves
- The next day, we track the creature to a unique ravine with a few huge overhangs; we see it curled up against a wall as if sleeping
