Wondrous Item, Very Rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster)

“Its light is an echo of what once devoured the divine.”

This baleful, pearlescent sphere glows faintly with shifting purple hues. Holding it too long sends shivers through the mind, like something ancient has noticed you. Faint shrieks echo within its core, barely perceptible, but impossible to forget.

While attuned, you gain the following benefits:

Mindpiercer Beam (1/day):

As an action, unleash a concentrated beam of force and psychic energy in a 60-foot line, 5 feet wide. Each creature in the line must make a DC 17 Intelligence saving throw.

  • On a failed save, they take 6d10 force damage and 2d10 psychic damage.

  • On a success, they take half damage.

  • Creatures reduced to 0 HP by this beam instead fall unconscious for 1 minute unless harmed again.

Shroud of the Drowned (Recharge 5-6):

As a reaction to being targeted by a spell or magical effect, release a psychic shriek from the pearl. The caster must make a DC 15 Charisma saving throw or be stunned until the end of their next turn. On a success, they take 2d6 psychic damage and have disadvantage on their next spell attack or saving throw.

Will of the Starved God (1/day):

As an action, cast Dominate Person (DC 16) on a creature with less than half their hit points remaining. The effect lasts 1 minute and does not require concentration. During this time, both the user’s eyes and the pearl emit a steady violet glow.

Star-Echo Manifestation (1/day):

As a bonus action, you summon a spectral eldritch starfish above your head that hovers and mirrors your intent. It remains for up to 1 minute or until it takes damage. While present, it grants you the following benefit:

  • Each round as a bonus action, the starfish fires a weaker version of Mindpiercer Beam: a 30-foot line (5 feet wide) of psychic force.

    • Creatures in the line must make a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw.

    • On a failure, they take 3d8 force damage and 2d6 psychic damage; on a success, half damage.

The starfish has AC 1810 HP, is immune to psychic and poison damage, and vanishes immediately upon taking damage

Curse – Residual Hunger:

Each time you use one of the pearl’s major abilities (Mindpiercer Beam, Will of the Starved God, or Star-Echo Manifestation), roll a d6. On a 1, you hear the scream of the god-eater and take 4d10 psychic damage (ignores resistance and immunity) and become frightened of the pearl until the end of your next turn.
