_âIf you wish to learn more of your future, listen to the whispers of a graveyardâ
Description:
The Beacon of Death is a dark and ominous pendant shaped like a misshapen skull made from porous, dark stone. The skull appears to suffer from osteoporosis, with cracks and pockmarks along its surface. A shadowy cloud continuously leaks from its mouth, giving it an aura of dread. This pendant is stained with the presence of a long departed god.
Properties:
-
Necrotic Regeneration:
Whenever any creature within 10 feet of the wearer takes necrotic damage, the wearer heals a quarter (1/4) of the total necrotic damage dealt.
Example:Â If a creature takes 20 necrotic damage within 10 feet of the wearer, the wearer heals 5 hit points. -
Partial Vulnerability to Radiant Damage:
While attuned to this pendant, the wearer is vulnerable to radiant damage. The wearer will suffer disadvantage on saves and attacks after taking radiant damage. -
Whispers of the Dead (1/Day):
Once per day, the wearer can activate the pendant to sense the presence of undead within 60 feet for 10 minutes. The wearer knows the direction but not the exact location or type of undead. While this ability is active, the shadowy cloud from the skullâs mouth intensifies.
Attunement:
To attune to the Beacon of Death, the wearer must have an affinity for death magic or the dark arts. Characters with an evil or neutral alignment may feel the call of the pendant more strongly.
Curse:
While the Beacon of Death grants its wearer necrotic regeneration, it also attracts the attention of undead. Undead creatures within a 120-foot radius are more likely to target the wearer if they can sense their presence.
