Description
The city sprawls elegantly between a shaded valley, a harmonious blend of white limestone structures, terracotta rooftops, and vibrant blue accents that mirror the clear skies above. Narrow cobbled streets wind their way through the city, lined with open-air markets, bustling bazaars, and artisan workshops. Towering minarets and domed buildings punctuate the skyline, casting graceful shadows against the even taller cliff faces that pinch the city.
Culture
The Half dragonborn population has carved out a society that values tradition, honor, and a keen understanding of the desert and ocean. Spiced Fish and Crab Wine are common and favored food items.
Leadership
The rulers, The Nyâalkosh Family, are Blue Dragonborn of ancient lineage, their scales reflecting the tranquil tones of the cerulean sea. From their palace atop the cliffs, The Nyâalkosh Family oversee the cityâs affairs, ensuring a delicate balance between tradition and progress.
Region
The surrounding landscape around NyâAl is dotted with wellsprings and oases that pour out of the arid cliffs, providing fresh water to grow desert fruits and spices. Nyâal itself is nestled in-between arid cliffs and plateaus. One of these plateaus sits in the middle of the river that splits the city in half. Dug through the plateauâs base is a massive bridge to connect the two halves of the city. Sitting on itâs top is The Blue Palace, the glittering home of the NyâAlkosh Dynasty.
Trade
Nyâal, itself a giant in the arena of trading, has no small boost from being one of the closest port cities to Carcosa. Its exports are primarily spices, fabrics, artisan crafts, and precious metals.
Danger
The desert has been unsettled as of late and its creatures are exceedingly violent, along with the vessels that haunt the nearby region. The firm grip of the NyâAlkosh rule has not eliminated all crime, and desert raiders prowl the dunes and crags.**
Plot Activity
The Red Quarter Rebels rebelled against The Nyâalkosh Family (with the support of The Lord of Puppets), but the rebellion was quelled by The Blackstars; this was not before much of the city was destroyed by The Leviathan.
